) - Pro-Russian militants in eastern Ukraine have captured six Ukrainian armored vehicles, the defence ministry in Kiev has stated.
According to reports, occupants of the vehicles were disarmed when they reached a blockade of local citizens in the city of Kramatorsk.
The incident occurs one day after Ukraine’s interim government promised to remove protesters from government buildings in eastern Ukraine.
Meanwhile, NATO has begun to increase activity in member states that border Russia. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated that it would increase the defenses of member states in the region with "more planes in the air, mores ships on the water, more readiness on the land".
