The attack, which began on Saturday, has killed at least 65 suspected al Qaeda militants, including 55 on Sunday and Monday. The other 10 were killed during a drone strike on Saturday.
A Yemense high-level official called the strikes "massive and unprecedented."
SABA, the state news agency of Yemen, said three strikes targeted an al Qaeda training camp in the village of Wadi al Khila, approximately 280 miles south of the capital, Sanaa. According to a statement from the Yemen’s Supreme Security Committee, the operatives were "preparing to launch attacks against Yemeni and foreign interests in the area.”
