) - Russia has declared that its troops will stay in Ukraine to protect Russian interests and citizens until conditions have “normalized”.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared that Russia’s occupation of the Crimea peninsula was for the purpose of defending human rights from “ultra-nationalist threats”. Lavrov stated Ukrainian authorities "intend to make use of the fruits of their victory to attack human rights and fundamental freedoms of minorities".
Ukraine has ordered full mobilization of its military and has called up reservists.
